Riding the Lion King car

Brandon loves to push me.

I love to ride the car.

Maybe the horn will work?

Help! Mommy!

Mommy, save me!!!

Oh, it's only Mamo and Papa!! I haven't seen them for awhile.

Ashtabula State Scenic River

The Ashtabula River was designated as a State Scenic River in October. This is the third river in Ashtabula County to be so dedicated. The other two are the Conneaut Creek and the Grand River. We're the only county in the state to have more than one, and we have three!! That's really green!!

Notice the longest covered bridge in the US up above us!

Same day...cover has a problem.... very windy...

This is what happened to the 2 buildings below the bridge after the high winds this summer.

View from the marina.

Scaffolding was swinging in and out and banging on the bridge. Haven't heard about it yet... Due to open again before Thanksgiving.

The Longest Covered Bridge in the USA

The bridge is now officially open. I think is also the highest covered bridge.

We followed the progress. This was last July, 2007.

Down into the gulf.

By May 1, 2008, some of the bridge had been constructed on site and was ready to move out onto the supports. See Rick standing on the right?

This is the future walkway.

By May 30, 2008, the roof was going up.

Here's the walkway, again.

We returned from our trip and the bridge had been dedicated, but not yet opened.

It was named the Smolen-Gulf bridge and was to be opened the second week-end of October during the Covered Bridge Festival.

The finished walkway.

This is a new and modern covered bridge.

It couldn't have solid walls because of the wind.

It has a metal roof.

The river below.

Indian Trails Park below the bridge.

Come and visit our beautiful bridge. There's a parking lot that now always has cars in it. Must get some pictures of that, also.

New Pets

This is kitty, who has no name. Someone dropped him off, and his sister, too. Sis is all gray, and very skittish. Won't come near anyone. There was a black one also, but haven't seen it in ages.

Be my friend. But if he scratches you, it gets infected.

Pet me.

Maybe I'll stay outside.... here birdy, birdy.. Elaine just hung the new birdfeeders for the coming winter season. Wonder how long it will take the birds to find them.

Hi! I'm Bodacious. I, too, was dropped off out here in the country. I'm living with Eric, but I'm going to stay outside. I'm trying real hard to learn not to jump on people.

His left ear doesn't go up straight, like Tazz's ear. Gives him more personality.

He really is a sweetie.
