Cleveland Botanical Gardens

Rick and I went to the Cleveland Botanical Gardens last September, 2007. The 2 gardens under glass are a desert and a rain forest. There are some animals in each: lizards, bugs, butterflies and birds. Many acres of outdoor gardens and it's right downtown Cleveland.

The first 3 pictures are from the rainforest.

A really interesting lily.

There are a couple more of these pictures that I posted on Flickr.

Summer fun in Ashtabula

Ashtabula is very nice in the summer and fall.

Great sky over the lake.

At the MVOU Ashtabula Tour, Rick had fun pushing Goo and her wheelchair thru the water over the ford on the Ashtabula River. Click on this to enlarge and look at Goo's expression. :-)

This is the view at the ford.

View of the Ashtabula River behind Goo's house.

Back to Ashtabula during the Heat Wave

Since the temperature was 100 and above, it's a really good thing that the air conditioner worked on the Airstream. I know, I'm putting the SuperTent in here, but this doesn't really fit in the other blog, either.

A Trip to Holden Arboretum

When my cousin Judy and her husband John came to Ashtabula last summer, our sightseeing included a trip to Holden Arboretum. It was my first visit, too. Using Rick's little camera to take these pictures, I discussed new cameras with John. I do love my new Nikon!!

Everywhere you looked, was a great photo op!

Ponds all over.

Waterfalls.

These miniture trains were neat. I think there were about 7 of them on all the tracks.

Mixed in with the trains were models of the Covered Bridges of Ashtabula County. This one is the Harpersfield Bridge.

Flowers of all kinds:

Lots of wildlife: Bees

Butterflies, too.

The Joys of Willow Beach

I stayed at Willow Beach for 6, or was it 8, weeks last summer. Basically, it's a really nice place. I have to say, these bugs....I really got fed up with them. They landed all over me when I walked outside. And the spot that we parked, had them the worst. They were supposed to be gone after a couple of days, but just for me, they hung around (literally) for 2 months!!

On the Airstream...

On the wind chimes, on the satellite dish, etc...

Several branches came down in the windy rainstorms we had.

Puddles never dried up.

The mushroom fairy rings were kind of neat, though. There were several of them.

Our New Family Blog

I'll start with these older pictures from almost a year ago when Laedyn was first born.
